“TextEd with Jane Lynch” is what transpires when you have a great collaboration and a client willing to take some risks. We were brought aboard to produce a teaser, five PSA’s and six vignettes for an integrated public awareness campaign on the perils and pitfalls of teen texting. The goal was to educate parents about speaking to their kids in an authentic and entertaining way. The client wanted Jane speaking to parents on a white cyc. We (Alcone + merit/andrew) knew we could elevate the experience. The challenge was that regardless, we had two days with Jane to shoot out a ton of content. What ensued was a great journey that we’re all proud of. Jane Lynch being arrested hit the press by storm and gave this campaign a huge boost out of the gate.As a bonus, TextEd won a 2011 National Gold Addy for Best Public Service Campaign.
